The Wine Garden in St. Charles, Missouri, has a long and storied history. It was originally founded in the late 1800s by German immigrant John Wepprich, who planted a vineyard on the property and began producing wine. The winery was a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, and it soon became known as Wepprich’s Wine Garden.

In the early 1900s, Wepprich’s son, William Herman, took over the winery. He expanded the business and began importing new varieties of grapes, including Riesling, Elvira, Virginia Seedling, and Concord. The winery’s popularity continued to grow, and it became a popular spot for weddings, parties, and other events.

In the 1970’s, the winery was sold to Gus Mueller, who renamed it the Vintage House Restaurant and Wine Garden. Mueller continued to operate the business successfully, and it became a well-known landmark in St. Charles.

The Vintage House Restaurant and Wine Garden closed in 2009, but it was recently purchased by new owners and local businessmen John Donnelly, Ryan Smith and Michael Caples who are planning to restore it to its former glory. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the new owners are committed to preserving a lot of its historical significance while updating it to meet today’s modern entertainment standards.

The Wine Garden is a significant part of St. Charles’ history, and it is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The new owners are excited to restore the property and bring it back to life. They are confident that the Wine Garden will once again become a popular spot for weddings, parties, and a variety of events and good times for all.
